Well ... our balloon popped!

Neotrope News Network - Server Crash Aug 5, 2016

THE SITE/PAGE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS TEMPORARILY OFF THE AIR.
sad panda We're sorry to report that the Neotrope 2013 Web Server completely crashed and RAID system failed during back-up and migration to new platform overnight August 4+5, 2016. Numerous sites have been completely offline since 1 a.m. Friday morning.

Websites affected include: CaliforniaNewswire.com, FloridaNewswire.com, MassachusettsNewswire.com, NewYorkNetwire.com, eNewsChannels.com, PublishersNewswire.com, AdvertisingIndustryNewswire.com, Ga-Ga.com, MuseWire.com, CitizenWire.com, MassMediaContent.com, FreeNewsArticles.com, Neotrope.com, Neotrope.net, Send2Press.net, Send2Press.com, PRgrants.com — and many more.

We're working on it!

We are working to have all our sites, including this one, back up and "on the air" over the weekend, or by Monday, August 8 where possible — on the brand new shiny super server, which will ensure this does not happen again.

Pardon the interruption in service, which was out of our control.
Ironically, we were moving to a new platform with realtime dbase back-ups and better data security, but didn't quite make it in time before old system took a major technical dump of doom. Last time we had a system failure was 2011, which isn't too bad, but downtime is a terrible thing being in the web information game. So, please check on Monday — we'll be back as soon as technically possible!

And yes, you guessed it: this thrill-packed "what the heck" page is hosted on the new hardware.
